Fire Queen Slots
Slots come in all types of themes, with some having more attention to detail and creating an experience, while others are more no-nonsense and all about the gameplay itself. Fire Queen is more on the basic side, but it shouldn’t be overlooked; there is much to appreciate about this unassuming slot game.
It’s Okay to Look Basic
Perhaps the only knock on this game is that the graphics are pretty basic. The all-black background does help the colors of the game pop, but the graphics look rushed. They are supposed to look like magic disappearing into the wind, but they come off more like an artist’s quick sketch. The one area you can tell they gave some extra attention to is the special symbols, which are much more aesthetically appealing
The game uses traditional face cards as symbols, and they use the same animation as the regular symbols. The regular symbols include a fish, a horse, a raven, a fox, a snake, and a castle, with the latter looking much more detailed than the other symbols. Additionally, there is a crown symbol that gives bonus spins and the Queen herself, who is wild and takes over the entire reel if you land on her.
The audio in this game is top-notch. When the reels spin, they make a sound close to a traditional slot machine, which is such a comforting sound. When you hit the wild, it roars like a fire, another sound that never gets old, no matter how many times you hear it. When you hit a winning line, the sound is a bit more electronic but short, and who doesn’t love the sound of winning?
Plenty of Winning Opportunities
What the game lacks in aesthetics, it makes up for in gameplay. The game only has twenty win lines, but that’s all you need when the reels are only three by five. If you hit the bonus symbol on three or more reels, it automatically affords you fifteen free bonus spins. Hitting three or more bonus spins during a bonus spin gives you five more bonus spins. If you hit the fire queen, it replaces the entire reel with wilds except for any bonus symbols you hit.
The nice part about the simplicity of this game is that there isn’t a lot of complicated jargon to understand. Apart from the two bonus features, it's pretty much click-and-spin. It has all the buttons that you would expect from a traditional slot game, like being able to adjust your winnings and how many lines you play per spin. It also lets you put the spins on autoplay and let the game make money for you.
Worth a Shot
This game may be basic, but that is part of its charm. Sometimes, all the excess features can take away from the basic enjoyable gameplay, and it’s good to take a step back and play a game that gets back to the basics. The audio is the surprise winner of this game, but the gameplay comes in a close second, and the graphics aren’t bad; they just aren’t up to the standard some regular players may be used to. Give Fire Queen a shot, and you’ll find that you were missing the simplicity of this game, too.
